The Texas Lawyer Referral Service, or TxLRS, is a program provided by the Texas Lawyer Referral Service, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
This service is certified as a lawyer referral service as required by the State of Texas under Chapter 952, Occupations Code.
This privacy policy is subject to change at any time and without notice.
The Texas Lawyer Referral Service (hereinafter, “TxLRS”) collects information on people it serves, on lawyers, on people who call TxLRS and on people who visit a TxLRS website (collectively, “Information”). TxLRS has security measures in place that are intended to prevent the loss, misuse, or alteration of Information under its control. TxLRS shall have the right to use, delete, share, sell or barter any Information in any way except as may be prohibited by law. TxLRS effectively owns all rights to any and all Information, except as otherwise specified by law. TxLRS shall have no liability or responsibility whatsoever for any Information, except as required by law.
Server log information: When you visit TxLRS.org, or any TxLRS.org managed website, you may be identifiable by a unique number called an IP address. Your IP address is automatically collected in server logs. Server logs also can be used to determine which browser you are using (i.e. Internet Explorer, Chrome or Safari), and the name of the website that referred you to our site. (i.e., if you were visiting the Texas Lawyer Referral Service website and clicked on a link to TxLRS.org, you were “referred” through the Texas Lawyer Referral Service site).
Cookies: Cookies are text files which our website places on your computer’s hard drive. Most websites use cookies, some require the use of cookies. We may use cookies to personalize your experience on TxLRS.org. That is, cookies may help us remember who you are and deliver content and services based on your personal preferences.
Personal information: Current and future services, or the TxLRS.org website, may either request or require that you give us your name, email address, or other personal information. By providing this information, you can and will be able to access services via the Internet which in the past may have required telephone or mail contact. These online services are provided as a convenience, and allow TxLRS to provide you with efficient and high-quality service at a lower cost.
Access to some services is protected by a password. We recommend that you use a unique password and you do not divulge your password to anyone. Your password is stored somewhere in the TxLRS data and may be accessed by an individual.
Certain Information may be subject to the Texas Public Information Act. This act may require the Texas Lawyer Referral Service to disclose Information upon request. Because of this requirement, it may be possible for Information to be obtained by commercial vendors or the public.
